NHL 20 Game Announcement Might Be Coming Today

It would appear that some news about NHL 20 will be announced today, June 19. The NHL video game Twitter account released a teaser image on Tuesday that states "Tomorrow" with a graphic of NHL 20 attached. That certainly makes it sound like we might know a lot more about the game within a matter of hours.

June 19 is also when the 2019 NHL Awards are taking place in Las Vegas, so it appears that whatever announcement EA is teasing could happen then. EA historically has announced new entries in the NHL series during the NHL Awards, so it's a safe bet that you'll want to tune in if you're eager to see what EA has in store for this year's game.

Now Playing: NHL 19 Mascot Madness Gameplay

The NHL video game series is confirmed to return this year, but EA hasn't said anything about it as of yet. GameSpot's NHL 19 review scored that game an 8/10, and you can currently play it free with a subscription to EA Access on Xbox One.

EA typically releases new NHL games in September ahead of the NHL season debut in October, so you can expect NHL 20 to launch around then.

You mean HUT 20? Because that's the only mode EA cares about. And it's one of the most egregious cash crabs I've ever seen. EA suckered me with the promise of 200+ legends in the game last year, (which were basically only playable in HUT and most of them you'd never actually get to use). Never again.

Why do people care anymore about any EA Sports game? For sure content will be cut out in half and put it away behind a huge micro payment wall. Or worse, they will trick you into thinking this is not happening at all.

@ganondorf77: because we've never ever needed to pay mtx for any NHL title. Really, who dafuq does microtransactions for a hockey game that already includes all team, players, game mode and more? Questioning EA's business model is one thing, but just randomly vomiting stuff without even knowing your facts is something else.

@heqteur: That exactly happened with FIFA, why not with all other games? Buy the game and come back here to say you can play 100% of the content by day 1 and without playing at all a single hour.

Or there are going to be 'Surprise mechanics' or the content will be locked with 'time savers' or the need to play absurd amount of hours (10k hours at least to unlock 5 crappy stuff). Perhaps I'm wrong, but EA is so much fucked up already, that we should think bad before knowing, instead of thinking good in the first place with companies like them. They have lied too much. The worse version of all is making people believe there wont be Microtransactions and/or lootboxes to bypass journalism, and then patch a game a month after release to have them. Fucking liars, nothing else. No need to have facts with crap like that.
