Zach 'Nien' Malhas joined Counter Logic Gaming in May 2013 to fill in for retiring legend and CLG owner HotShotGG. Since the beginning of Season 4, however, his form has not been top notch. Fans, commentators and experts alike were citing him as the weak spot of the team.

Recently, Nien informed the CLG management that he wishes to step down from the starting line-up citing his current form and family issues which he wishes to focus his attention on. Nien remains on the team, but will not be living in the team house anymore. Counter Logic Gaming have not yet considered potential replacements and have not decided on a recruiting method.

"He is probably the last person I expected to step down just because his of his attitude and work ethic." shared fellow teammate Yilliang 'DoubleLift' Peng "There is currently no top talent in NA and we could possibly look at Asia or Europe for potential replacements".

For more information regarding the move, Travis Gafford caught up with Nien and Doublelift who shared in more detail how this decision came to be and its effect on the team.
