Nintendo Direct Coming This Week, Won't Include Updates on NX or Mobile
What are you hoping to see?
Nintendo will broadcast a new Nintendo Direct briefing tomorrow, March 3, during which the company will talk about Wii U and 3DS games scheduled to launch through summer. The briefing will not contain any news about the mysterious NX console or Nintendo's mobile efforts, the company confirmed.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST on March 3. It will broadcast live through the Nintendo Direct website and presumably via external sites such as Twitch and YouTube.
Some Wii U games from Nintendo scheduled for now through summer include Pokken Tournament, Star Fox Zero, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.
On the 3DS side, some upcoming Nintendo-related games include Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and the aforementioned Mario & Sonic game.
This will be Nintendo's second Nintendo Direct briefing in as many weeks. Last week's Nintendo Direct was focused on Pokemon, with Pokemon Sun/Moon being announced during the briefing.
Though we won't get any news on NX or mobile during the event, Nintendo is planning to talk about both efforts later this year. In fact, Nintendo's first smartphone game, Miitomo, is due to launch in March, so we would expect some further news soon. Additionally, Nintendo has said it will begin to officially discuss the NX system this year--one recent report claimed the console may even launch this fall.
