Nintendo Is Recruiting 2D Level Designers, But For What Game?
A job listing is looking for people to work on 2D games for Nintendo.
Nintendo is recruiting level designers to make 2D action games, according to Nintendo Life. Nintendo tweeted out a job listing on it's Japanese account, which links to a job asking for applicants with experience creating "specifications for objects placed in game courses." The potential hire would work in the Nintendo Tokyo office.

The image shows screenshots from Yoshi's Crafted World, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, and Super Mario Maker 2. Nintendo does not have very many games that are currently announced, limited to Metroid Prime 4, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and a Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. There have been rumors of the 3D Mario games getting remastered, but that has not been confirmed by Nintendo.
The job listing could be for a new entry in one Nintendo's existing IPs or a brand new game all together. There is a job listing for a 3D level designer on the same page as well, so Nintendo is looking to release both styles of titles at some point in the future.
