Nintendo won't be the only publisher with a game that offers cross-buy support when the feature becomes available on Wii U and 3DS in March.
When it launches next week, OlliOlli will become the first third-party game with Nintendo cross-buy support. Whether you purchase the Wii U or 3DS version, you'll be given access to the skateboarding game on both systems, publisher Curve Digital announced on Twitter today.
Having been available for quite some time on PlayStation systems (not to mention mobile platforms), cross-buy support is something Nintendo fans have requested for years. Back in January, Nintendo finally announced plans to introduce the feature this March with downloadable puzzle game Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars. However, it was unclear how common this practice would become, as cross-buy was described as being a "special offer."
OlliOlli, which debuted on PS Vita in January 2014 before later releasing on PC, PS3, and PS4, comes to Wii U and 3DS on March 5. (An Xbox One release is also happening in March, as is the release of OlliOlli 2 on PS4 and Vita.) For more on the game, check out GameSpot's review.
