Nintendo Partners With Vans for Licensed Shoes, Shirts, Backpacks, and More
Nintendo brings on another licensing partner.
In February this year, Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima said licensing deals are critical to helping the company bring in more consumers. This is because, he said, "the proportion of young consumers who are first experiencing games on our systems has been falling."
Now, Nintendo has announced a new partnership with Vans for a collection of officially licensed footwear, apparel, and accessories featuring artwork from games like Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Donkey Kong, and The Legend of Zelda.

There are also designs based on the NES system. The new line of Vans items will go on sale this coming Friday, June 3. Everything will be available in adult and children's sizes.
You can see some of the shoes in the picture above, while Polygon has a gallery of pictures for the other items, including shirts, hats, and backpacks.
Nintendo also has a partnership with Converse for its line of Mario shoes.
Some of Nintendo's other licensing efforts include Mario toothbrushes, while the company has also licensed its characters for a new Universal theme park.
