Nintendo Shuffles Release Dates
New dates announced for Kirby 64 and Banjo-Tooie
Just to reassure you, Perfect Dark has NOT been delayed. Oddly enough, neither has StarCraft 64 (the game with more than six different release dates thus far), still set for June 12th. Nintendo, however, bumped Kirby 64 two weeks to June 24th, and finally pinned a date on Banjo-Tooie -- July 26th. Additionally, Nintendo gave Pikachu VRS (Voice Recognition System), a new name - Hey You, Pikachu! Unfortunately, Nintendo has not given Mini Racers, despite reportedly being complete, a final release date.
On the Game Boy front, Nintendo actually moved Perfect Dark forward. Previously scheduled for a holiday release, Nintendo now plans to release the game July 24th, the same day as the GBC's first real-time strategy game, Warlocked will be available. Nintendo has suddenly morphed its mysterious Donkey Kong Country into Donkey Kong Country 2 and delayed it until August 28th. The game press has assumed based on what little information we know that the title is a port of the Super NES game by the same name, although up until now, SNES ports to GBC were considered impossible due to the limited GB technology. Nintendo released a colorized version of Donkey Kong Land 3 recently in Japan, but it appears to us that this is not the same game we've known to be in development.
