Nintendo Switch, NES Classic Edition Available At Best Buy Today

I got my Switch today and I'm surprised by how small it is. Even the game cartridges and game boxes are smaller than I thought they would be. It's also a lot heavier than I expected and has a very sturdy feel. I'm very happy with it so far.

I'm going to be the jerk here that rips on anyone that is clamoring for or has paid the ridiculous amount of money for one of those stupid things. Newsflash people, an original Nintendo isn't some rare, hard to find, priceless artifact. You can get ahold of an original one still in the shrink wrap unopened for less than $300 through amazon or eBay. Personally I got mine for $50 at my local store that sells retro game systems, games and equipment. $50 people!!! And it's the real deal, with a controller that isn't the size of a flash drive. Do you know how many cool games you can purchase for the amount of money people are paying for these stupid things? Totally idiotic. They are easy to find and chances are you already know someone who has a bunch of unwanted games just sitting around at home or in a storage unit they'd be more than happy to get rid of for nothing! The original Nintendo system is incredibly durable and will work forever and if it doesn't operate all that well it's so easy to take apart and clean that my 9 year old son does it. Why pay out the ass for some stupid little thing with a dainty controller when you can get the real thing. It's idiotic. Have fun. I'm currently playing my real Nintendo and 90 games that I got for a cheaper price while the morons are clamoring for this stupid thing. Sheesh!!!

Got mine off Amazon just now. Can't wait!

Just now, I thought about buying one, for a split second. Then I remembered that its what, 300 bucks and the only game is Zelda? Lol, Zelda was fun during the NES days but I was never the biggest Zelda fan, especially not now. 300 bucks could buy a GPD windows handheld and I can could play emulators and indie games and some fairly new 3d games on it with no compromises, when it comes to internet and applications.

All those thoughts in a split second. and now I'm definitely not going to get one, ever. I've come to the conclusion that nintendo is going to have to Wow me with some more games instead of the same recycled crap, bonded with a different gimmick.

Have a chance? No thanks. They act like this is a massive giveaway when we are still paying full MSRP. I can't support this business model.

Marketing 101

Sell small quantities and be short on demand even if demand is not very high. Creates a feeling of "hard to get everyone is lining up for one" and more people will line up for them even without really wanting one...just to be in. Appeal to the sheeps.

This is interesting information, considering that yesterday (Wednesday March 29) I went to Target and they said that their Nintendo rep informed them that as of the day before (Tuesday) they were no longer going to make the NES Classic anymore.

So either the Target employee is a hateful liar or Nintendo hasn't informed the rest of the tech world.

It really amazes me how people in mass keep falling for Nintendos gimmicks. After this ends up collecting dust after a few months (like the others)...ppl will complain and the cycle will continue.

My down the street Bestbuy in a busy shopping center had 5 Switches on the floor yesterday. Didn't see any NES though. Try in stores instead of fighting online.

they were there but the site was for shit! and by the time I got it to the checkout for pickup they disappeared.

3 simple steps to driving massive numbers to your website..... 1) Buy 3 NES Classic Editions at scalpers prices 2) Say you have a "limited quantity" of NES Classic Editions that will go on sale on a certain day at a certain time 3) Have an established website like Gamespot that is gullible enough to report it

They're not even showing up on the website for me, (other models do, but they're all listed as "sold out" whereas there isn't even a listing for the NES Edition) which is a shame because I would have bought one. Guess I was just too late.

Went to Toys R Us today and only one was left waiting for me on there top shelf :P

Well, it took a 1/2 hour but I got one.

Funny that the NES Classic was mentioned in this article. I was at my local Gamestop yesterday and they just happened to get in an NES Mini Classic so I went ahead and bought it. Had not seen them in awhile. Thank the Triforce I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Saw them being sold on amazon for 250 last night... damn why do i have to be broke
