Nintendo talks Zelda Wii U

ive been a zelda fan since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time back whe n it was relesed in 1998

It's amazing how slow the interface and update process is on this device. It reminds me of the PS3 launch. It shouldn't take 10-15 seconds to switch between the browser and the dashboard.

I'm waiting for games like this and a price drop before I consider getting a Wii U. Sorry Nintendo, I only like your consoles for their 1st-party games. Definitely looking forward to seeing what you can come up with when you have hardware that can actually output a high resolution.

Would it be crazy to ask for a reboot of the Original Legend of Zelda? By reboot, I am talking about Next Gen Graphics interface etc, but with the Original Quest.

Curious if I am just being "nostalgic"

I just finished Skyward Sword. That game is beyond amazing and it truly is an amazing origin story. Can't wait for the historia next month!

Would love to see a Wind Waker re-release for WiiU. Tingle tuner on the controller screen. Hell, I'd get a WiiU just to replay that game. Add WiiMotionPlus support to items! HARD MODE?! SUPER HARD MODE?!?!?!? That one's free Nintendo. :)

I'll take whatever Nintendo has to offer. The good usual outweighs the bad.

If Nintendo want third party devs to really do well then they should think about letting them use (licence) the engine that they are developing for this new Zelda, maybe?

nintendo would have had a much stronger Wii U launch and more people would have been likely to adopt the system if a strong title like zelda were to launch on the system. but here are two reasons why its good the system didn't launch with zelda. number 1...... Zelda is my favorite nintendo franchise, and if it was a launch title their is always that chance that they would rush it to make the dead line of the systems launch. number 2..... waiting awhile while the system gets feedback and updates and the system gets more secure. nintendo will be able to code the game to be more reliable and take full advantage of those HD graphics and the Wii U gamepad. im hoping that they stick close to the twilight princess graphics, but in HD with more detail. exactly like the E3 demo. i would buy that game 10X's over.

Well if you ask me what can never be enough is the same old head-in-the-sand single player and other-than-co-op action, as Bethesda should have learned and the Zelda universe can certainly implement. This is the age of connectivity, let's stop move in the direction of enlightenment, this is getting embarrassing.

You know what would really be good for Nintendo? If they finally got a new IP

I particularly like the way Zelda wears the green outfit.

The last great Zelda for me was Wind Waker. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword looked like a mash up from Zelda's past...

Imagine a Zelda with Assassin's Creed quality visuals. That would actually get me excited about the franchise again. Oh and please give it some semblance of difficulty. These last two outings were unbelievably easy.

Nintendo is moving back in the right direction. I had an N64, loved it, and skipped the Gamecube and Wii. It seems like Nintendo is pursuing a more hardcore strategy as with the N64. The system will be 250 dollars by the time the lineup gets really good and I will (shockingly) be tempted. Of course I'm still buying either the next Xbox or Playstation because they will undoubtedly be mind-blowing.

Enough of Zelda (Though I still look forward to it). I want to bring back the old IP's back. Give me Star Fox, Metroid, and F-Zero. I miss those games.

As far as 3rd-party support goes, I don't think the other next-gen consoles are going to eliminate it from the Wii U completely. There are a few that will see possibilities on the Wii U that can't be done on other consoles. If they have smarts, they will take the chance.

Sooo....whats going to happen in 2 years when next gen consoles come out, and are so far ahead in technology compared to WiiU that no third party will give them support?
