Just in time for the release of Mortal Kombat: Deception, Nubytech will release limited-edition controllers designed for Midway's fighter for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The controllers will be the first M-rated controllers ever released, featuring gory artwork based on Mortal Kombat's infamous "fatality" moves, which drew the ire of critics in 1992 because of their gratuitous blood. The artwork will be concealed in the controller's packaging to prevent exposure to younger audiences. "These will be the first M-rated video game controller ever in history, and in doing so we want to ensure the public that we making efforts to be a socially responsible company," said Birute Tursa, Nubytech's director of marketing.
