Oblivion Remake Will Shadowdrop "At Any Moment This Month" - Report

I hope Morrowind comes next. And I also hope Bethesda stops this shadow dropping thing. It was a disaster for Hi-Fi Rush and for Tango itself

It seems to me most commenters didn't even properly read the article. According to which this new Oblivion was remade with Unreal engine. So obviously an actual, full-on remake, and not just a remaster.

This also means no Creation Engine I guess, for better or worse. I'd expect Unreal to perform a lot better, but mod support would probably go out the window.

If it’s coming out this month and Bethesda hasn’t even announced it, I’m guessing it’s not much more than a light remastering to get their mod store in the game.

At this point though, I think Oblivion would need a lot more to really impress again. It’s an old, much iterated on game.

Been waiting for this for a very long time. Oblivion was the first game that got me into RPGs as a child. The music is gonna have me in my feels once I am back in that forrest.

Definitely good news but I wonder how much of a remake it will actually be? I mean it could with a serious visual overhaul and not just have creation club slapped onto the bog standard 20yr old game. Fingers crossed its a good re-release.

Just trying to cash in before Skyblivion comes out. Likely with something phoned in and largely AI generated.

i think either they've FO76ified it... (modernized QoL hud, interface, controls)

or... a half-baked release on a mandated deadline...

note: i think TES6 will be FO76ified minus guns.

hopefully it will be more densely pack POI's than Skyrim (more like FO) Skyrim is big but a lot of it is empty of content unless you like scaling cliffs with your horse for no reason.

they just want to shove creation kit ($$$) into their old games.

you can bet this one will take a while for modders to bugfix before most of us should bother with it.

i'm all for an update, IF it is bringing forth new tech they have made for TES6.

if not, it isn't gonna be very important. (remember skyrim SE came out after they had some improvements from working on FO4... so this should be the same, else who cares...

I would love to get an official Oblivion remake. It's easily my favorite ES game, by a significant margin. Skyrim was more fun to play because of its controls and systems, but Cyrodiil's world, towns, characters, and quests can't be topped.

Just play the original, what is with all these remakes?

All that i'll ever need in oblivion is a proper controller support on PC...

It would be better if it were a remaster instead of a remake because remake indicates "we ruined the game and ask for higher price" BS lol.

If it's on an ES6 Creation Engine fork I'll buy it in a flash. If it's UE5 TAA/DLSS blurry slop they can keep it I'll play Skyblivion instead.

I'm totally interested if there are some tweaks to the game, like either rebalancing or removing the monster scaling. Both the thief guild and dark brotherhood really were incredibly fun.

If it’s all true, then one could narrow down the release to April 22nd-April 30th. I wouldn’t believe any other date suggesting a release before then. They wouldn’t hinder their own in-game celebration for ESO.

I love me some Oblivion, but Morrowind is better and more deserving of a full remake (although I'm sure they'd "streamline" it in various ways that would piss me off :-P )

They need to remake the first two, Arena and Daggerfall.

I don't care. Skybliovion looks better than this remake sounds and I'd rather support modders than bethesda any day of the week. Fallout London is the best Fallout game ever made in the modern era and Bethesda doesn't have the talent to equal it. The same will be true here.
