He wrote in his reply, "At least 100 - Over 20 Oculus Studios titles, many more 3rd party titles." It's already known that the headset will ship with a copy of Lucky's Tale, a platform game made specifically for VR, and sci-fi space shooter Eve: Valkyrie, which launches its Alpha phase this month. You can also check out the announcement trailers of other Oculus Rift games shared by Oculus during its briefing last year.
Preorders for the Oculus Rift consumer model opened today, revealing the headset's $599 cost. This includes the Oculus Rift headset, an Xbox One controller, Oculus Remote, a sensor, free copies of Eve: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale, and the required cables.
Preorders can be taken without an upfront payment, as customers will only be charged when the headset actually ships. The launch batch of headsets, which starts shipping from March 28, have already sold out. The next batch of units are estimated to start shipping in May.
Luckey has defended the Rift's $599 price point, describing it as "obscenely cheap" for what it offered. For those looking to pick up an Oculus Rift, it's worth checking out the minimum PC specifications required to run the VR headset.
