My hope is this game reminds me, in some fashion, of Castlevania: SOTN. I would buy it and play it a ton if that were the case.

Stoudman I don't see what's wrong with a beautifully hand-painted sidescroller. While I agree to some extent that it seems like the character can get too big vs level size if the zoom features work well you won't notice it for long. As for animation, unless if you only get 3 or 4 moves or they constantly recycle the animation for new moves then there's no issue there. Neither you or I have any substantial proof this game will bomb and by that same token just reading the number of positive posts vs negatives posts doesn't look like Atlas is making a HUGE mistake. Nt tho.

Holy crap...side scrolling RPG? It didn't work for the second Zelda game, and it probably won't work this time. There are two major annoyances for me already -- The character size relative to the level size -- far too big, and the view of the levels is far too small. To add on, there aren't really any real animations besides "slash", "get hit", and the all important "some sort of magic" animation...this looks like something they just threw out there at the last second, and personally, as an RPG fan, I'm worried that Atlus is making a HUGE mistake here.

I hope this gets released in Europe, as it's looking pretty sweet!

If they then would have stayed original istead of turning their **** into some wierd dating sim with crappy big eyed creatures and spilky hair... Sounds good - hopefully it's not like a B-level RPG like some of the Atlus pushes to market. I'll have to research this right now.

It's nice to see Atlus still supporting PS2. They are also bringing Atelier Iris 3 and Persona 3 later this year.

Grab the new Play magazine. The US Play, not UK one. Has the Odin Sphere cover story. This game looks crazy, like moving art. Beautiful. I'll have to get it.

This one has lots o' eye-candy. Anybody know anything about the gameplay? Story sounds kind of cool, though. It might be a game to look into in between marathon sessions of Disgaea. It's nice to see RPGs that aren't remakes or sequels... Shout out to Square; Make a new F#@!ing game already! Also, how exactly does one go about porting a PS2 game to a PS2? Just thought I'd ask.
