Official Halo 3: ODST Cosplay Guide Will Make You Look Pristine And Very Mean
Developer 343 Industries has put together the ultimate guide for dressing up as everyone's favorite rookie shock trooper.
Halo fans may be in for a long wait until Halo Infinite kicks off on Xbox Series X and Series S, but if you're looking to kill a few hours instead of Covenant grunts, then a Halo-themed cosplay project should be able to fill that gap. Now that Halo 3: ODST has been added to the Halo: Master Chief Collection, developer 343 Industries has put together an official cosplay guide for the Rookie character that players could control in the 2009 game.
According to 343 Industries, staff from across the franchise, content, and consumer products teams were drafted in to help put the 70-page guide together, and renders of Rookie's armor from old builds of Halo 3: ODST were used as reference material. Cosplayer ZaraVarin from the consumer products team also helped advocate what the reference material should include so that fans would be able to see all the small details that they would want knowledge of for their builds.
As for the guide, it's a comprehensive collection of materials, colors, and detailed images of the Rookie from every conceivable angle, along with close-ups of his gear. While the guide won't tell you how to make the costume, the pages of reference material available will point you in the right direction for what the battle armor should look like by the time you're finished.

Alternatively, there are quicker ways to assemble a Halo costume in case you want one for Halloween. Provided that you have some cash on hand, you can find officially licensed outfits that provide a bodysuit and sculpted plastic armor pieces. To complete the look, you can even grab a Nerf dart blaster that is based on Master Chief's primary firearm in Halo Infinite.
