Otogi sequel announced
From Software releases the first details on the next Otogi Xbox game, known in Japan as Otogi: Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, From Software has announced the next release of Otogi for the Xbox. Titled Otogi: Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki, the game will take place in the Heian period in an alternate Japan, adopting the mythical Japanese atmosphere from its previous release.
The main character is now an exorcist named Seimei Abeno who works for the imperial court. Abeno's objective in the game is to protect the world from monsters by attacking them with fans. In the action-RPG-style game, the main character can level up by defeating enemies and can gain strength and new magical abilities. Most of the objects can be destroyed, and the type of destruction often changes in real time depending on the attack.
Otogi: Hyakki Toubatsu Emaki is currently 70 percent complete and is scheduled for release in winter 2003.
