Outlaw Golf 2 E3 2004 Preshow First Look

The original Outlaw Golf was a fun, tongue-in-cheek golf game for the Xbox, and when publisher Simon & Schuster Interactive got out of the game industry, publisher Gathering picked up the rights to the series. Gathering is now touting Outlaw Golf 2, the sequel that will incorporate support for the Xbox Live and a number of other new features.

The original gang of over-the-top characters returns in the sequel; there will be 11 in all, ranging from the rappers, thugs, and, of course, babes. Outlaw Golf 2 will feature eight extreme courses, including three newly remade courses from the original and five new courses. Each will have a distinct environment, from arctic to desert, and there will be a miniature golf course and driving range.

There will be 13 game modes, including regular play to more extreme forms of golf, like time attack and baseball golf. The big new addition is multiplay over the Xbox Live; up to four players can be supported in a game, and there will be an online leader board so players can publish their scores. Other new features include a new cart-driving system that allows you to pull stunts and tricks on the golf course as well as a new fully customizable soundtrack on your hard drive.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Outlaw Golf without a fighting system; however, instead of beating up other golfers, you can take out your aggression on your hapless caddie. This will increase your composure, which will allow you to make difficult shots. Needless to say, you’ll probably take advantage of this system a lot.

Outlaw Golf 2 is being developed by Hypnotix and is scheduled to ship in October.
