Ouya CEO "pissed" about delayed shipments

I see a $100 dollar paperweight. There is nothing to play on it! Mostly android rip offs of other games. Plus if I wanted to play emulators I would just do that on my pc.

The controller looks like a freak baby of the Playstation and Xbox controllers.

Most of the people I see complaining (or downright flaming it) about the Ouya are people who judge it based on it's power - or lack thereof as the case may be. To that I say: You're missing the point. I'm not going to lull you with the whole "gameplay matters blah blah" crap because that's clearly an obnoxiously over used statement.

When I look at the Ouya I see: An affordable console with affordable games that I could pick up and play with my daughter. A console that's easily brought to other peoples houses. Something with potential.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the Ouya and I don't get why it can't be a good thing for the people it's catered to.

Then again I'm probably talking to a bunch of brick walls. This is after all a community of "gamers" whose best argument is "it sux".

I refuse to get an android tablet b/c its basically an larger screened android phone (which i own and love). So why get a console that plays the games my phone can play already?

I like the idea of indie/small time developer console (Nintendo should adopt that strategy), but most android/ios games are complete and utter crap. How is this going to be any better when phones are more powerful?

Very unprofessional to shift the blame and make up excuses. Even if this is true, the professional thing to do is apologizing, shifting the blame makes a company look weak, a CEO ought to know better.

Was thinking about picking one up but.... my phone and my tablet can do what it does already and better so I will just keep my $100 until i have a reason to get one.

This system opens the door to a whole world of developers that can't be on PS4 or Xbox. If don't want it cool but tell both sides of the story before bashing it.

people keep talking about the price...100 bucks...but heres the thing...my money is WORTH something tell me what this Ouya does that an android tablet cant? Also What exclusive games are there for this thing? who has actually committed to making games on it? That hasnt been answered as of yet..

It's all good really. It cost $100, everybody involved knew they were taking a risk, and the product outline wasn't so spectacular that anyone started itching for it the day the Kickstarter campaign closed. If it runs XBMC, doesn't explode, and arrives before Christmas in working condition then it will have surpassed the expectations I had when I backed it.

My only real complaint is that I didn't know it could support PS3 controllers when I ordered an extra OUYA controller.

I didn't get one and don't plan on it, but if I supported this via Kickstarter and had to wait 2 weeks plus *after* shipping from China I would be p*ssed too. Good luck to those who are waiting...feel bad for you!

What a load of s**t. Made for the mobile phone gamers but at least it keeps them off the proper consoles
