Pablo Escobar Is on the Run in Narcos Season 2 Trailer
Netflix's drama based on real events returns on September 2.
Netflix has released the first trailer for Narcos Season 2. In it, we see Colombian drug kingpin Pablo Escobar on the run, having escaped (or been set free?) from prison.
Colombian authorities, alongside with agents from the United States, are tracking him down and seem to be taking some extreme measures. "These guys don't fight by the same rules, so why should we?" a DEA agent says. In one sequence, a man is thrown out of a moving helicopter. The trailer also uses Styx's song "Renegade," which is just about perfect, lyrically, for what's going on.
The show, the first season of which debuted in 2015, is based on true events and stars Wagner Moura as Escobar. Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl, Milk) portrays DEA agent Steve Murphy. A lot happened in the first season involving drugs, murder, and politics, culminating with Escobar's eventual "imprisonment."
Season 1 garnered a positive critical response, sitting at a 77 on GameSpot sister site Metacritic.
Narcos Season 2 starts streaming exclusively on Netflix on September 2, at which time all 10 episodes will be available.
