Palworld Arena Update Release Date Was A Mistake
The update is not coming in the summer.
Pocketpair has clarified that the Pal Arena feature in Palworld will not be coming in Summer 2024, but instead at a later point this year.
The developer took to Twitter to correct a mistake on yesterday's teaser trailer for the game's PvP mode, Pal Arena. The teaser clearly says "Summer 2024" at the end, but Pocketpair apologized, saying that it only meant a general 2024 release window.

However, Palworld will still see some substantial new updates in the summer. Pocketpair said that it will be adding a new island with new Pals, buildings, and weapons to Palworld. The game recently received its first raid boss named Bellanoir, and players can face her after summoning her at the alter. There's an "extreme" difficulty version of her as well for players who are looking for an extra challenge. Previously, Pocketpair wasn't optimistic about adding PvP, but it seems that it has finally come around to the idea.
Palworld's sudden popularity back in January made it one of Xbox's biggest months in history based on total playtime--10 million people played the game through Xbox Game Pass and it was the biggest third-party launch on the subscription ever. Despite the massive success on Xbox, the developer has shot down rumors of a potential acquisition with Microsoft, saying no discussions ever took place. The team is also exploring new platforms to release Palworld on.
Palworld is currently available in early access on PC and Xbox.
