Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record Reimagines The Original Trilogy In VR
Panzer Dragoon is making the jump to VR with a new spin on the first three games.
The first two Panzer Dragoon games are already coming to Nintendo Switch in the near-future, but that isn’t all you'll be able to play soon. Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record is a reimagined take on the Sega Saturn trilogy and it's built specifically for VR.
Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record, a title that cleverly works in "VR" without using "Virtual Reality," will take place in first-person view and uses a motion controller to control the dragon rider's weapon. It's expected to arrive by March 2021, and it's the first game from startup developer Wildman. It will be a single-player experience, with the game's first press release calling it a "VR dramatic shooter."
The game's official Twitter account said it won't be a full remake of the games, so it's possible only some of their content will be included. However, several of their iconic dragons such as Atolm and Lagi are featured.

Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record doesn't yet have confirmed platforms. The announcement came 25 years to the day since the original Panzer Dragoon released on Sega Saturn in Japan. It arrived to North America two months later, and its remake should hit Switch later this year.
Though it was never a smash-hit franchise, Panzer Dragoon helped to keep rail shooters alive just like Star Fox before it. NieR: Automata director Yoko Taro is a noted fan, and despite denying any direct influence on his work, you can see elements of it throughout nearly all of his games.
