PaRappa the Rapper dropping on PSP
The godfather of the modern rhythm game genre promises to bring some funk to PSP owners.
A full decade after its Japanese PlayStation debut and four years since its last installment, the PaRappa the Rapper franchise is getting a new, palm-sized installment. Famitsu.com revealed today that Sony Computer Entertainment's classic rhythm-based music game is being ported to the PlayStation Portable.
The game will contain all six raps from the 1996 PlayStation original, with the graphics reformatted to fit on the PSP's wide screen. New features include head-to-head rap battles between up to four people using the PSP's wireless networking capabilities. The cartoonish character designs of Rodney Alan Greenblat will return intact.
The game is slated for release in Japan sometime this winter under the title PaRappa the Rapper.
