Today developer Grinding Gears announced Ascendancy, the next expansion for its free-to-play action-RPG Path of Exile. In addition to new skills and items, the expansion will also introduce the Ascendancy system: a set of 19 possible classes to further empower your character.

The expansion's highlight is a new procedurally generated dungeon called the Lord's Labyrinth. You can get a feel for how the battles and puzzles will be laid out in the Labyrinth in the introductory walkthrough below.

The big reward for completing the Labyrinth is access to the new Ascendancy classes. The gallery below shows off a few of the new ones, including the Juggernaut, Champion, Gladiator, Necromancer, and Slayer. More classes will be revealed on the game's official website, PathofExile.com.
