Paul Walker to star in Hitman reboot
Fast and Furious actor to play Agent 47 in upcoming big-screen adaptation of Square Enix's stealth series.
Hollywood news site Deadline reports that Fox International Productions has green-lit a Hitman reboot called Agent 47, with Paul Walker (Fast and Furious, Timelime) to star as Agent 47. On board to direct the picture is Aleksander Bach, a commercial director who will be making his big-screen directorial debut.
Agent 47 follows 2007's original Hitman, which starred Timothy Olyphant (I Am Number Four, Justified) as the dangerous assassin. That movie was not adored by critics, but netted nearly $100 million worldwide. The new film's script is being penned by Skip Woods, who also wrote the original.
The Hitman reboot will be shot in Berlin and Singapore this summer after Walker finishes a global press tour for Fast and Furious 6. The film will be produced by Charles Gordon (Die Hard), Alex Young (The A-Team), and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman). Daniel Alter (The Apparition) will serve as executive producer.
The most recent entry in the Hitman series--Hitman: Absolution--launched in November behind a positive critical reception. For more, check out GameSpot's review.
