PC Midway Arcade Treasures golden

Four-disc compilation of Treasures 2 and 3 features 29 arcade classics; retro action hits February 6.

PC gamers are that much closer to going old school. Midway Games today announced that Midway Arcade Treasures: Deluxe Edition has gone gold and will be in stores February 6. The 4-disc set includes all the games from Midway Arcade Treasures 2 and Midway Arcade Treasures 3, as well as the original Mortal Kombat. Among the classics included are Super Off Road, Gauntlet II, Pit Fighter, San Francisco Rush 2049, and Rampage World Tour. Midway Arcade Treasures Deluxe Edition is rated E for Everyone and will sell for $19.99.

Excellent! As someone who has played these games in the arcades and NOT acquired the ROMs for MAME, this sounds like a terrific deal. I know a number of these games, especially the driving titles, used custom arcade hardware. One of the most fun multiplayer games, Super Off Road, proved to be just as fun when played with a keyboard back when it was released for the PC a decade or so ago. I've got the gamepads for solid multiplayer action 'round one monitor. These types of games are a great break between the FPS and RTS games that dominate my local LAN parties.
