Phantasy Star Online ships for GC
The first online game for the GameCube is out, and it works with either the modem or broadband adapter.
Sega has announced that Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II is now shipping to retail stores. The game is an extension of PSO for the Dreamcast and will be the first online game for the GameCube. It's the first game to take advantage of the broadband and modem adapters that recently became available for the GameCube.
The online service for Phantasy Star Online will be run through Sega.com and will cost subscribers $8.95 per month. By playing online, not only is it easier to find others to adventure with, but there's also exclusive online content, including a Halloween-themed quest that will run through November 4. The game can be played offline with the split-screen mode that allows for up to four players.
