Plants vs. Zombies 2 hits Android worldwide
PopCap's free-to-play strategy game sequel now available globally through Google Play.
After 25 million downloads on iOS, PopCap Games' free-to-play strategy game sequel Plants vs. Zombies 2 is now available worldwide for Android. The game is available today through Google Play and features full integration with Google Play Game Services.
According to Plants vs. Zombies franchise business director Tony Leamer, the Android version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 will include all the same features and functionality found in the iOS version.
Players can face every zombie and access every level in Plants vs. Zombies 2 at no cost, though upgrades and other in-game items are available for purchase with real money.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 has not been without controversy. In September, Apple denied paying PopCap owner Electronic Arts to delay the Android version of the game after EA Labels president Frank Gibeau reportedly said, "Apple gave us a truckload of money" to do so.
