Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is getting a beta. Players wanting to jump in on some plant-and-zombie action before launch will be able to do so this month.

The beta will be open to all PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players starting on January 14 and ending on January 18. The beta includes limited access to the Backyard Battleground, which is a hub world that acts as a menu and connects players to every map and mode.
Six new playable character classes are available to play as; the plants get Rose, Citron, and Kernel Corn, while the Zombies have Imp, Super Brainz, and Captain Deadbeard.
Game modes included in the beta feature 24-player matches, including a new mode called Herbal Assault, where plants attack and zombies defend. These modes will be played on four new maps including one with low gravity called Moon Base Z.
All you need to do to access the beta is download it from the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Store on January 14.
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 comes out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 23.
