Platinum Games' next title is Max Anarchy
Independent Japanese developer behind Bayonetta, MadWorld, and Vanquish working on Sega-published online fighter for PS3, Xbox 360 says Famitsu; targeted for worldwide debut during fall 2011.
The latest issue of Japan's gaming magazine Famitsu states that Platinum Games--famous for titles like Bayonetta, MadWorld, Infinite Space, and the recent Vanquish--has a fifth title in development.
According to Famitsu (as translated by Andria Sang), the independent Japanese developer is currently crafting an online combat game dubbed Max Anarchy. The title will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 worldwide during fall 2011 and will be published by Sega under a recently announced deal extension.
Details are scant surrounding Max Anarchy, but according to the report, the title will sport an offline campaign with a "solid" story and will also become Platinum's first online-enabled fighting title. Max Anarchy will be a fighting game that supports a "large number" of players at once, though nothing more specific than that was offered.
Additionally, the report confirms that vicious protagonist Jack from the violent Wii-exclusive MadWorld will be a playable character in Max Anarchy. Other fighters were not announced. More details on Max Anarchy are expected when either Sega or Platinum Games formally announces the title.
