PlayStation Plus Free Games For February 2025 Live Now

PS Plus subscribers can plan a heist, experience some classic Pac-Man action, and visit one of the weirdest alien worlds of all time in February.

PlayStation has released this month's batch of free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. All PS Plus members can now claim a trio of freebies--Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World: Re-Pac.

Sony also mentioned that it will focus more on offering PS5 titles through the monthly games and Game Catalog benefit starting January 2026. While PS4 owners may still receive free games as part of the subscription, Sony says these will only be occasionally handed out from next year.

Payday 3

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for Payday 3, which was supposed to kick off the next era of the popular bank-heist-simulator series. While the core game isn't bad, numerous server issues and low player numbers made for a rough launch, but developer Starbreeze hasn't thrown in the towel on Payday 3. yet. As part of an effort titled Operation Medic Bag, Starbreeze has been steadily improving on the game with several patches and an offline mode.

High on Life

If you're a fan of Rick and Morty, then High on Life will appeal to you as it shares much of the same oddball humor as the hit animated series. A first-person shooter that features very talkative guns and an alien space cartel who get "high" on humans, the game was made by Squanch Games, a studio founded by Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and Tanya Watson. Roiland resigned from the company in 2023, following a series of controversies.

Pac-Man World: Re-Pac

A remake of the original Pac-Man World platformer, Pac-Man World: Re-Pac is a charming game featuring the Bandai Namco icon. Its gameplay was overhauled and its graphics were updated for this 2022 release, which saw Pac-Man embark on a quest to save his friends and family from the ghosts who had kidnapped them.

Omg these comments. Arguing for the sake of arguing. Are we still doing the whole PC vs Console thing? When you’re insulting others and looking down on them because they play on console, it immediately tells me you’re an unlikable, bitter troll who has no friends. Who cares about who plays on what? Let people enjoy what they want and go back to your sad life.

High on Life got old almost immediately. I played through the first bounty, and then some of the next world, and uninstalled it. I didn’t laugh once in those 2-3 hours, and the combat was very generic. I was actually bored after the very first battle, but I thought I’d see if it would grow on me. It didn’t. The reviews about it getting old quickly were accurate.

Surprisingly not terrible. Except Payday 3, of course.

I tried the OG Payday and it was terrible. I played it for a little while and the game was just BAD.

i'll check out the other 2 briefly but will most likely delete after a few hours of playing them.

I'm glad I canceled my PS plus last year, they wanted to charge me $80 a year! I play all my multiplayer games on PC now because it's free.

@martintule24: so a PS5 pro is $700, and you can't even get close to the same performance on a similarly priced PC despite what people claim.

How many $80 a year does it take to get to parity with a gaming PC that's similar?

My gaming laptop was around 3k, so I'm pretty sure itd be awhile. Admittedly, a bit on the expensive side but even a $1000 PC would take about 4 years.

@Ohaidere: you spent three thousand bucks on a laptop. What you would actually know about value is, clearly, not a whole lot.

BTW, the PS5 Pro is not that powerful whatsoever, dude. It's using a bunch of upscaling techniques that, frankly, the original console should have already been able to do, to essentially have a form of DLSS3. Actual horsepower isn't particularly amazing, so... I dunno, look it up.

@Ohaidere: My PC is around that price as well, but ps plus went from free, to $50 a year, then $60. Once they jumped to $80 it was a slap in the face. If they would have stayed on price or jumped to $70 a year it would have been okay, but $80 just seems greedy and a f you to the customers. I have the PS5 PRO as well.

@Ohaidere: Unfortunately, PC ports of console games are commonly bad. The general populace doesn't want to mess around with PC settings. They want a game to work fast and automatically.

Consoles are not going anywhere.

Ah yes, the old console pleb adage of "PC's are too complicated". Most PC games nowadays auto-detect your settings and properly optimize the game for you. There is very little you have to do to optimize your games now, but it's not like you would know that since you still play on consoles that use parts that are at least 5 or 10 years out of date and still lock online multiplayer behind paywall subscriptions.

"Consoles are not going anywhere."

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Sony is still struggling to sell the PS5 even after 4 years on the market and I really doubt there will even be another Xbox at this point with the way things are going.

@martintule24: Why do people act like that’s the only reason to have PS+? You also get a few games every month and (sometimes substantial) discounts on digital games. I don’t touch multiplayer games, and I keep PS+. Not to mention that you often get 50 points in the PlayStation Stars program just for starting up certain PS+ games. Those points add up. I’ve gotten so many gift cards for digital games through that program. Keep complaining just to complain, though. You’re really accomplishing something…

@Chupert: are you older than 25? PS Plus is a service that you pay for. The games are freebies that are now expected and promised. If you’ve been around since the beginning, then you’d know that monthly freebies weren’t a thing for a while.

You paid for multiplayer services. That’s it. $15/month for that alone, same as Xbox Live. Xbox eventually started giving away monthly freebies as a bonus for subscribing. PlayStation soon followed that trend, but the service only costs $10/month now and you get 3 free games, instead of one or two. People who don’t know history don’t appreciate anything.

If you really want to get nitpicky with it, then you’re paying about $1 per game, since you still pay a fee for multiplayer services and other benefits within that $10/month cost.

@joecollin: multiplayer on PS3 was one hundred percent FREE, genius. You seriously don't have a clue about reality. No wonder you blindly accept what is essentially a type of surcharge to fucking unlock a basic functionality. Well, certainly you and everyone else who blindly supported that surcharge known as Xbox Live and screwed everyone, including yourselves. Thanks for that.

But, no. Your timeline of the multiplayer surcharge is completely off. You are also ignoring that the subscription must be maintained to keep access to any and all games you may have gotten through the service, for whatever laughable reason. They're directly tied to the ongoing cost. They don't cost a dollar or whatever you want to purely make up to defend what is a gouging practice. If it was an optional service, LIKE IT WAS ON PS3, it would be fair. Oh, and if 99 percent of the games weren't awful. Like in the PS3 days as well. 😄

@BloodMist: somebody is angry and has no comprehension or basic math skills. “PS+ started in 2010 and all multiplayer required it on PS4.” Quote me on when and where I said PS3 MP wasn’t free. Or where I stated anything other than facts and basic math to generate average values. Stating facts doesn’t mean I agree with being forced to pay to play multiplayer. You’re so filled with anger and spite that you looked right past comprehension at an attempt to mock me, but ended up making yourself look silly and bitter instead.

@joecollin: Sorry bud, you didn't make a damned point. Who cares if PS4 required it from the beginning. That's irrelevant to the actual point which I made, and you ignored. Your math is utterly nonsensical, and I pointed out the reasons why. I will go another step and point out that the cost per game isn't fixed, as you are required to have the subscription to play any of the games they give out. Saying it's "a dollar" is patently false. You don't get permanent ownership of any of the games. You don't have a valid argument. Even if the games weren't either absurdly cheap more often than not due to constant sales anyway, or just not worth your time.

Now, again, I am plainly and simply going to tell you, stop defending a surcharge that you claim to have value, when it simply doesn't. Especially not when the primary cost has absolutely nothing to do with the monthly games, which you get less of now, for a more expensive price than ever, anyway, due to one massive price spike. Stop ignoring simple logic. It makes you look ridiculous, whether you realize it, or not. 😊

@joecollin: I also own a Switch and a PC, on the Nintendo I pay $20 for the entire year to play online but also get a big catalog of retro games and on the PC I don't have to pay ANYTHING. So saying that the PS plus games are freebies is just naive, those "freebies" are the only reason they get away for charging ridiculous amounts of money for something that should actually be free (Online Multiplayer).

So yeah when they come out with months like this, full of garbage "freebies" I do get to wonder why am I paying for this thing when I should instead be buying PC versions of games and play online for free.

@Chupert: then stop paying for it. Pretty simple. I also own a PC and that’s where I do 90% of my gaming. It’s not naivety. I’m acutely aware and it’s a choice to not be so negative or entitled about the games not being “good enough for $1.” The “incentive” games certainly aren’t the only reason they get away with charging for online MP. People will pay for anything. Publishers make more money from greedy microtransactions than they do from game sales. If you want to fight a battle, then fight that one.

They never had to give away games every month. People would still be subscribing, especially in today’s world. If you pay for the yearly PS+ subscription, then you’re getting those incentive games for pennies. I will never in my life complain about getting a game for $1 or less. Even the worst game is worth $1 and it’s far better than paying for a microtransaction.

@G-Corleone: bro somebody else. I’m the only source I need. I lived through it. MP has been there since the PS2; you just didn’t always have to pay for it. Free monthly games didn’t start until 2012, as an added perk. PS Plus started in 2010 and all multiplayer gaming required it on PS4.

@amichalski81: yes, that’s exactly why it initially started. Xbox started it and Sony copied their formulas every step of the way and still do. That said, they did transform it into a good value. As it sits now, there’s no way you can complain about it and be justified, unless you’re complaining about having to pay to play multiplayer. That’s understandable. Some games don’t have a PS+ requirement for MP; mainly F2P games.

I remember being pretty disappointed when Sony spit out their own version of Xbox Live, but now it’s actually a good value and it’s cheaper than most TV streaming services.

@joecollin: my biggest complaint about the service is the dissemination of the "tiers." If they just did 2 tiers it would be so much simpler! PS+ and PS+ Premium. I wish we had the good ole days when online was just included. I can't afford to build a new rig so I'm stuck on the PlayStation. Not a bad place to be stuck if you ask me.
