PlayStation Plus Free PS5 And PS4 Games For February 2021

If you're gonna put the brand-new edition of a highly-praised ~1yo game on PS+, maybe announce more than a month in advance, or better yet don't do it so soon after extended holiday sales and after-sales.

We got lucky with Maneater refunds, but not with Control UE.

I'm still smarting over buying a discounted RDR1 at EB Games in fall 2011, and then like the NEXT DAY the damned RDR GOTY released at the same price. lol.
(EB Games didn't authorize my attempt to return it).

Playstation has gotten pretty lazy the past couple months giving out games that have been on ps now for a long time. I feel like I should cancel ps now if I want to be delightfully surprised by future free games of the month.

Aw...crap. I just bought the DLC.

This is a great line up. They've covered all angles this month, PS4, PS5 and PSVR with Concrete Genie.

I've already played Control (vanilla edition) but will be happy to give it another play on PS5 with the DLC and have just dusted off the VR headset in order to play a few levels of Hitman 3 so Concrete Genie couldn't have come at a better time for me.

I don't know what to make of Destruction All-Stars. The fact it was pulled from traditional release means one of two things (usually): not very good or a F2P riddled with microtransactions bordering on Pay to Win. Hopefully I'm merely playing Devil's advocate and it will be neither.

I wish online and cloud save was just free, but man, seeing people complain - the $33-40 price tag means you're spending like $2.50 a month for access to online and to rent a few games.

Concrete Genie I just platinumed, it was in my top 10 of 2019. It's just a nice, colorful fun game. Has VR too.

Control is hit or miss, but still a big title, people are dropping $20+ or more and were pissed at buying separate ps5 copy - well here for $2.50 you got it. It's still a recent AAA game.

AND you get a brand new PS5 IP to boot.

Yet people are bitching? Spoiled jerks, have some joy in your life. It's a great deal. Heck I don't have ps5 yet and own both the ps4 games already, I'm still impressed by the value of this month! (especially compared to Gold).

I will say I'm very sad that the 2 games I wanted these past few months, Maneater and Bugsnax, are ps5 only though... I've had all the other games, it kind of penalized gamers who actually buy games. Oh well. Still a good line up!

Pretty awesome. I was actually gonna buy that version of Control, as I've never played it. And Concrete Genie looks decent enough to try.

Well I think this makes 3 months or more in a row that I haven't added a free ps+ game to my library. Strong streak ya got going there sony.

Control was awful. It ironically had terrible controls. The combat was nothing but chaos. Not the fun kind of chaos. There’s no cover system, so you’re just wildly running around, shooting and telekinetically throwing things. The shooting feels completely weightless. The “platforming” is terrible. Checkpoints are spaced out shitty and the story didn’t keep me entertained, and you can get through the game only using 2 or 3 different powers and gun variations. I have no idea why some people think this is a great game.

I was thinking of getting Control since it was $20. But glad I controlled myself as I knew it might come to Plus.
