What to expect in the State Of Play May 2024

So far, nothing specific has been confirmed although Sony did mention that several upcoming games from PlayStation Studios will be shown off.

Sony has several games in development, including FairGame$ from Have Studios, Wolverine from Spider-Man studio Insomniac Games, a remaster of Until Dawn, and a multiplayer Horizon game from Guerrilla Games. On the third-party side, updates from other PlayStation partners could see new details on the Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 remakes, and Kojima Productions made a splash during the January State of Play with an extended look at Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

Rumors have also suggested possible announcements for a new Astro Bot game, God of War Ragnarok on PC, and the PS5 Pro console could be made. Excitingly, an adapter for the PSVR 2 was spotted in the wild, hinting that the Sony virtual reality headset could finally be making its way to PC.

State of Play arrives during a very busy time on the gaming calendar. While there aren't too many high-profile games coming out in June, the month is crammed with numerous showcase events, like Summer Game Fest 2024, the Xbox Games Showcase, and a new Nintendo Direct amongst many other gaming livestreams.

Interestingly, Sony is also a confirmed Summer Game Fest partner, but it hasn't revealed yet how involved it'll be with the annual show hosted by Geoff Keighley.
