Pokemon Developer's Other RPG Is Coming To Steam
Game Freak's Little Town Hero, which was previously exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, is now coming to PC.
The studio Game Freak is best-known for their work on the famed Pokemon franchise, but they recently came out with another RPG, titled Little Town Hero. Formerly a Nintendo Switch exclusive, that game is now coming to PC via Steam on June 30.
Both the new PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game are getting a retail release, dubbed the Big Idea Edition. It's unclear if this edition's new Easy Mode will come to this PC version as of yet.
Described as a turn-based RPG with a card-based combat system, Little Town Hero first came to the Nintendo Switch in October 2019. In GameSpot's Little Town Hero review, critic Suriel Vazquez gave the game a 5/10, praising its music--which was composed by Undertale creator Toby Fox--but faulting almost everything else about the game. "Little Town Hero finds some success in avoiding some of the complex systems and tedious menus that can bog down other card games and RPGs, but it ends up suffering for it," he wrote.
This announcement comes on the heels of major Pokemon news. The first DLC for the game's latest entry, Sword and Shield, is out today. Additionally, The Pokemon Company recently announced that it's producing a sequel to the cult N64 game Pokemon Snap, which involved taking photos of Pokemon in their natural habitats.
