Pokken Tournament features support for every Amiibo on the market, although specifically what function those figures will serve remains to be seen.
Over on Nintendo's official website, a page has gone up describing the game's Amiibo functionality. It states quite simply, "Compatible with all Amiibo accessories unlocking in-game items."
No further information is offered regarding what those items are or how significant they'll be to the experience. It's possible they'll be merely cosmetic or collectible in nature. Whatever the case, we've contacted Nintendo to find out more.
The page also notes Pokken Tournament is compatible with the Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card. This comes with the first wave of physical copies and immediately unlocks Shadow Mewtwo for use in-game.
Pokken Tournament arrives for Wii U on March 18. A special controller will be available alongside the game, but it can't be used when playing against a friend locally.
