How rare will they be?

Pokemon Go will be getting shiny Pokemon soon, according to the latest data mining leak.

The news comes from The Silph Road, which says it's discovered code for shiny variants in the game's latest update. Shiny Pokemon are extremely rare skins for existing Pokemon, catchable at random in the mainline Pokemon series. It's not yet clear how their functionality will tie in to Pokemon Go.

Other news uncovered by the leak includes the addition of Pokemon genders, another feature from the 3DS games. Male and Female monsters do not differ in their stats in standard Pokemon games, though the addition of gendered critters in generation 2 allowed for Pokemon breeding, suggesting Pokemon Go may receive a breeding system in the future.

Other future changes indicated by the leak are mostly centered around customization options: you'll soon be able to change your Pokemon's costumes, as well as all your own avatar's clothes, hair, eyes, and backpack.

The last Pokemon Go data mining leak happened in November. It revealed the forthcoming addition of 100 new Pokemon from Pokemon Gold and Silver, as well as Ditto's arrival.

The 100 new Pokemon will apparently be getting a full reveal soon; keep an eye on GameSpot for all the news.
