Pokemon Scarlet And Violet's Upcoming Expansions Get New Trailer During Direct
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero's first part, The Teal Mask, releases this fall.
Nintendo has revealed a new trailer for both of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet expansions during its June Direct. The first chapter in a two-part expansion dubbed The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, The Teal Mask, will be released on Nintendo Switch sometime this fall.
The new trailer shown during the Nintendo Direct for The Teal Mask showed off some of the new content fans can expect from the Pokemon expansion. A new area, Kitakami, which is home to Mossui Town, was shown off, featuring rice fields and lush country side. A number of new characters were shown, who appear related to the story content of the first DLC. A couple of Pokemon that weren't previously available in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, along with a few completely new creatures are also seen.
The trailer also revealed a few details about Part 2: The Indigo Disk, showing off the high-tech Blueberry Academy. The academy is located in the middle of the ocean and glimpses of players going to classes and battling. This part reveals the Terrarium Dome, a large park underneath the academy that features four distinct biomes, each home to its own collection of Pokemon.
It was also announced during the Direct that shiny chest form Gimmighoul might be found during five-star raids from today through July 2. Players can also redeem 10 Nuggets, 10 Rare Candy, and a Friend Ball using the Mystery Gift passcode TREASUREHUNT through the end of July.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's two-part DLC will see players venture beyond the borders of Paldea, with Part 1: The Teal Mask taking place in the village of Kitakami. This first expansion focuses on an outdoors study program and coincides with a festival regularly held in the village. New mystical Pokemon will be encountered--Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti--and players will be able to unravel the mysteries behind several folktales that have been passed down over the ages.
Part 2: The Indigo Disk will have a student exchange theme, and two new legendary Pokemon will be encountered in both expansions, Ogerpon in Part 1: The Teal Mask and Terapagos in Part 2: The Indigo Disk. A number of Pokemon from older generations will also be roaming the land, and Nintendo says that in total there'll be over 230 of these pocket monsters to discover in the new regions.
