Pokemon Sword and Shield's first expansion, The Isle of Armor, is officially here. The DLC is now live following today's Pokemon Presents presentation, which also revealed a new Max Raid event revolving around the Mythical Zeraora and gave us our first look at a new Pokemon Snap game for Nintendo Switch.

The DLC arrives alongside a new update for Sword and Shield, which you'll need to download and install before you can set off to the Isle of Armor. Once the update is installed and you've purchased the games' Expansion Pass, you'll automatically receive an Armor Pass, which will grant you access to the new area.

In addition to the expansion content, Sword and Shield's latest update introduces a variety of new and returning Pokemon to the games. These can be encountered in the wild in the Isle of Armor area, but you don't need to own the DLC to be able to obtain the Pokemon.

The Sword and Shield Expansion Pass costs $30 USD and grants you access to both The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, the latter of which is slated to launch later this fall. The expansions cannot be purchased individually. You can read more in our Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pre-order guide.

In other Pokemon news, the Mythical Zeraora is appearing in Max Raids from June 17-28. If one million players can defeat it, every player will receive a Shiny Zeraora via Pokemon Home. Every Gigantamax Pokemon is also appearing in Max Raids again until June 29.
