Pokemon's First Ever Fire/Water Type, Volcanion, Revealed

It only took 721 tries, but we finally have a Pokemon that is both a fire- and water-type.

Volcanion is described as a steam Pokemon. "It uses fire and water to create steam within its body, expelling explosive shock waves and boiling steam from the arms on its back," reads the official description. "The power is said to be great enough to blow away an entire mountain, gouging out the earth and changing the shape of the land."

At least presently, Volcanion can't be encountered through regular gameplay. The video above teases that more details are on the way. It's unclear when it'll be added to the games, though the story about its reveal is hosted on the official site for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the most recent entries in the core RPG series.

The latest Pokemon game is Pokemon Picross, a free-to-play (or free-to-start, as Nintendo likes to call them) game for 3DS. Pokemon Go, an augmented reality game for mobile, is scheduled for release next year.
