If you're looking forward to the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, you'll have to wait longer than expected. After initially being delayed two months to March 18, Ubisoft has indefinitely delayed the highly anticipated remake. Whenever it does release, it will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. That said, if you already know you're going to pick it up, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is available to preorder at multiple retailers, and you can secure some nostalgic bonuses by snagging a copy early.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is being developed by Ubisoft's Pune and Mumbai studios. While Ubisoft is keeping the foundation of the fan-favorite original, there will be numerous improvements besides just the much-improved graphics to make it more modern. For instance, Ubisoft has added a targeting system for combat and more acrobatic movement for the Prince. You'll also be able to unlock the original 1992 version of Prince of Persia and play it from the main menu.

The classic franchise has remained dormant since 2008's Prince of Persia reboot, but Ubisoft has chosen arguably the best game in the series to remake and perhaps inject newfound interest in the action-platforming series. It earned a 9/10 in our original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time review published in 2003.

If you preorder Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake for PS4 or Xbox One, you'll get a free next-gen upgrade (PS4 to PS5, Xbox One to Xbox Series X). Though Ubisoft hasn't officially confirmed a Nintendo Switch version, GameStop was previously selling preorders for the remake on Switch, so it seems possible the remake will be ported to Switch.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is available to preorder in both physical and digital editions for $40. Physical editions are available to preorder at Best Buy and GameStop for PS4 and Xbox One. GameStop also has the Nintendo Switch version available for preorder, though it currently has a placeholder release date. PC users can snag a digital copy at the Ubisoft Store (opens with Uplay client).
