MindArk AB has announced that it has selected 500 new players to participate in the upcoming second phase of testing for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Project Entropia. The second phase of testing is scheduled to begin at the end of August. Applications for future phases of the beta test are still being accepted at the Project Entropia beta sign-up page.

Project Entropia is set in a futuristic online world in which human colonists fight for survival against dangerous alien creatures and marauding robot forces. The game will be distributed for free with no monthly subscription fee. Instead, players will be able to convert real money into in-game money with which to purchase new equipment and items.

Project Entropia is scheduled for release later this year. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
