Team Coast

Coast has always been the most volatile team in the LCS. They can go from sixth place in a season to going 2-3 vs TSM in the playoffs. The team has a large disparity with individual skill, as Shiphtur and Zionspartan are a cut above the rest. If history is any indicator, COast will always step up when it really matters, especially in best of fives. Coast can beat any team in the bottom five of the NA LCS, but it is almost always solely dependent on Zion Spartan and Shiphtur carrying, and preventing Nintendudex and the bot lane to fall too far behind.

Shiphtur

“He’s stuck in ELO hell” - Doublelift

It’s clear that Shiphtur is the best player on Coast and winning this series will also fully dependent on him. What really stands out about Shiphtur is his laning. He can take on players like Bjgersen and Link and go even or win lane. He also boats a deep champion pool, even for a midlaner. With picks like Ahri, Shiphtur can still crush his opponent with off meta picks.

ZionSpartan

Patch 4.5 opened a small hole in the top lane meta that played directly to ZionSpartan: Jax. His ability to quickly take down towers in a meta where taking fast towers early makes him a great pick. Combined with Jax being on of Zion’s best champions, he will definitely be a contested pick in the draft phase. Zion shouldn’t have a problem taking on Westrice, who hasn’t had any spectacular play so far this year.

Formerly know as Determined Gaming, many thought that this team was poised to deny the Evil Geniuses an entry into the LCS last promotion tournament. This turned out not be the case. In an interview, Brokenshard claimed that they weren’t mentally prepared.

“We were actually very high in morale in my opinion. I felt that we were all strategically and physically prepared for the match. But after the first game something just went wrong and we all just went on tilt. Huge huge tilt. “

Coast should also feel confident versus Complexity, as they had the first pick of challenger teams.

Prolly

It’s clear that Prolly has raw mechanical skill, but he hasn’t been on a team that let’s him shine. Now, Prolly has everything he needs to put the team on his back. This series will truly be a battle of the mid laners, and it’s unclear if Prolly could take on Shiphtur in a 1v1.

Brokenshard

Brokenshard will play a particularly important role in this match, as shutting down solo laners will be the key to success for taking down Coast. It will be crucial for him to keep a stable mental outlook, and work with Prolly to lead the team and make the correct rotations.

Final Prediction
