PS4 and Xbox One Add Another Free MMO as Star Trek Online Launches
Players can now experience the Star Trek MMO on consoles.
Free-to-play MMO Star Trek Online releases on PS4 and Xbox One today. The game originally released with a subscription-based model for PC in 2010.
Star Trek Online has more than 130 story missions and features classic Star Trek actors such as Jeri Ryan, Michael Dorn, and Tim Russ. Its first two expansions and major updates are available on the console versions as well.
Publisher Perfect World Entertainment announced back in May that developer Cryptic Studios had made "considerable updates" to the game's engine which allow for "upgraded visuals and an enhanced user experience for console." Cryptic says it's "created a control scheme that allows players to navigate both the space and ground combat with ease."

Disclosure: The Star Trek rights belong to CBS, which is GameSpot's parent company.
