PS4 and Xbox One Get a Colorful New Free-to-Play MMO Today
Trove is out now.
Trove, the voxel-based MMO from Defiance developer Trion Worlds, is now available in open beta on PS4 and Xbox One.
Available on PC since last year, Trion announced console versions were on the way earlier this year. It's a free-to-play game but for the time being is available as an open beta. Progress from the beta will carry over to the full game once it ultimately goes live.

In a blog post, Trion said it wants players to provide feedback on its forums as it attempts to improve the game. One area it said it's still working on is the control scheme, though it didn't indicate specifically what aspects of it may still change. Executive producer Andrew Krausnick told GameSpot earlier this year, "Being an action RPG, it's really well-suited to the [console] control scheme, and it's very drop in and play. You can play in a short session and get stuff done."
Trove includes both PvE and PvP modes, the latter of which come in the form of Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes.
