PS4 Final Fantasy Fighting Game Gets Open Beta Next Month
You'll have another chance to try Dissidia Final Fantasy NT before its release.
Square Enix's PS4-exclusive fighting game Dissidia Final Fantasy NT arrives in North American and Europe in early 2018, and ahead of its release, players will have another chance to try out the three-on-three arcade fighter. Square Enix announced that it will hold an open beta for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT before the game's launch next month.
The beta begins on January 12 and runs until January 21. Unlike the previous Dissidia Final Fantasy NT beta, it will be available to all PS4 owners in North American and Europe, though you'll presumably need a PS Plus subscription in order to play it. Square Enix hasn't revealed the contents of the beta or what time it will officially begin, but the publisher says that more details will be announced closer to the beta's date.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT features 28 characters at launch, all taken from various installments throughout the Final Fantasy series' history. Square Enix recently released a trailer that showcases the entire launch roster, which includes popular heroes like Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, to Ace from the spin-off Final Fantasy Type-0. The game also features seven classic Final Fantasy Summons that can be called in during a battle.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT releases for PS4 on January 30. Those who purchase the game's Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Collector's Editions will receive Dissidia Final Fantasy NT's season pass, which will add an additional six characters to the roster post-launch. The Ultimate Collector's Edition also includes a Warrior of Light bust figure, 15-song soundtrack, hardcover art book, and a unique steelbook case.
