PS4 State Of Play Livestream Is Today

No PS5, but there will be PS4 game reveals, plus a look at The Last Of Us Part II.

12 Comments

The latest in Sony's line of PlayStation livestream events, State of Play, is scheduled to take place later today and is set to reveal brand-new PS4 games. The company has announced that the next of these Nintendo Direct-esque streams will take place on September 24, with the promise of a "pretty hefty show," and one that comes just hours before an Inside Xbox stream. Here's everything we know about the State of Play so far, when it starts, and how to watch the stream live.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony says the stream will be about 20 minutes in length and feature a "fresh new look." No specifics were shared about what games we can expect, but there will be game reveals, "new content from PlayStation's Worldwide Studios," and more. The one thing we know for sure is that Sony won't be talking about the PS5 or its next-gen console plans in general.

The stream starts on Tuesday, September 24 at 1 PM PT. You can find the start time for your timezone below. You'll be able to watch live here on GameSpot.

New look? There have only been two State of Play vids (as far as I know) and they're changing the look? Sort it out Sony and don't bother broadcasting it unless you have something decent to discuss which hasn't been aired elsewhere.

@gotrekfabian:

Yeah the first was dreadful and the woman sounded super patronising and the second slightly better.

Hopefully it's a better format

@barcaazul: If it isn't then I think Sony will find that their view count will drop exponentially. And speaking of new looks, the usernames on this site have turned blue! 😱

@gamingdevil800: Da Ba Dee, Da Ba Doo, Dabba Dee Dabba (sorry!)

Being serious, I like it. It's a calming, cool blue.

@barcaazul:

I know ppl who are buying a PS4 this year despite knowing that the PS5 is coming next year. Some ppl don't care and want what they want now so Sony should just show it to us already come on.
