PS4's Wipeout Collection Release Date Announced With New Trailer
Omega Collection brings together everything from Wipeout HD, Fury, and 2048.
The upcoming PS4-exclusive Wipeout Omega Collection arrives on June 6 in the US and June 7 in Europe, Sony announced today.
Omega Collection was first announced last year and is a collection of content from Wipeout HD, Fury, and 2048. It features all of the tracks and ships from those games with enhanced visuals, running at 1080P on PS4 or a dynamic 4K resolution on PS4 Pro. HDR support has been implemented, and both the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions are "targeting" 60 FPS.
The new trailer above offers a look at some of the classic tracks running on PS4. The accompanying description boasts, "Compared to the original games, textures are now clear when viewed up close: you can even read some of the small text on the ships for the first time."
Sound effects have been "fully remastered," and the soundtracks consists of 28 licensed songs from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, and Swedish House Mafia.

Omega Collection features nine different modes, including Wipeout HD's Zone, Tournament, Speed Lap, Time Trial, and Single Race; Fury's Zone Battle, Eliminator, and Detonator; and 2048's Career mode. You can also play two-player split-screen or with up to eight players online.
Physical and digital editions of Omega Collection will be available for $40. Preorders for the latter are now live on the PlayStation Store and come with the dynamic theme pictured above.
