PS4/Xbox One May Get Some of the Best Assassin's Creed Games

It seems as if we could get Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations on PS4 and Xbox One.

We haven't seen Assassin's Creed II protagonist Ezio Auditore since the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, but it looks like the Italian assassin could be on his way to modern consoles. A NeoGAF user noticed "Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection" on the Korean Ratings Board, which has become notorious for leaking games and screenshots.

Presumably, this collection would include Ezio's three adventures: Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations. With the absence of an Assassin's Creed game this year, the Ezio Collection could fill a hole for fans of the series. This is all conjecture, however, as nothing has been confirmed. We've contacted Ubisoft for comment and will update this article as we receive more information.

Assassin's Creed II is already playable on Xbox One through the console's backwards compatibility program. Additionally, a similar collection, the Ezio Trilogy, was released on PS3 in 2012. This new compilation would probably be remastered for modern consoles--it's important to note this is not confirmed.

Assassin's Creed II received a score of 9 in our review for its "huge, beautifully realized world to explore," Brotherhood was scored an 8.5 for having fantastic lairs and platforming sequences, and Revelations earned itself an 8 for its "new movement options [that] keep the platforming joyful."

The next Assassin's Creed game is expected to be set in Egypt. It's rumored that the game is titled "Assassin's Creed Empire" and will be "a complete revamp of the series" featuring "a Witcher feel, with player progression" and a "freeform combat system." Ubisoft confirmed that it would not release a game in 2016 but did not share any other details.

In lieu of a new Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft's holiday release schedule is filled out by Watch Dogs 2, Steep, and South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

I think rogue deserves the same treatment. It had a good story a large open world and a different perspective. The story was shorter than most ac games but a remastering could mean they could add more missions. Shay was unique. Different than other protagonists in the franchise I would say has the potential to be as good as ezio. I feel rogue should be remastered and if anyone hasn't played it I highly recommend it. I feel rogue should have been 2014's ac game that got a pretty new engine rather than the boring and glitchy ac unity. Elise was an interesting character but that was it the rest of the character and story were trash. Imagine naval combat with unity/syndicate engine.

Man if they were to bring out an Assassin's Creed game in Egypt I'd buy it but hopefully they change the combat because Assassin's Creed's combat is stale. Make it like Shadow of Mordor.

@Warlord_Irochi:

I just hope they have better combat if they do do an Egypt setting.

I wish Ubisoft would fill a hole and bury itself.

@Dav_id83: What's wrong with the Multiplayer? I know it's not as good as the Singleplayer but I don't know how it can bother you.

Going back to the ps3 games after playing the ps4 games feels so bad, the controls worked at the time but now it just feels clunky.

It was never a good franchise; the Ezio trilogy is the only tolerant sub-franchise due to Ezio's likeability. However, the games have always suffered in game design with lousy combat and stealth mechanics, extremely repetitive mission designs and uninteresting characters and stories.

The popularity of the first AC came because of it having nice graphics at the time and the setting the game took place, but it was a poorly designed game IMO and served much more like a glorified tech demo.

@cboye18: I'm sorry, but I strongly disagree with almost everything you said, for the Ezio trilogy that is, since those and AC 1 are the only ones I've played fully. The combat and stealth mechanics aren't bad in any of the games, save maybe the first. And uninteresting characters and stories, are you kidding? The story in the Ezio trilogy is amazing, and so are the characters. I mean, aside from Ezio himself, you've got Leonardo freakin' Da Vinci for crying out loud, and he's really great in the games! For me, the setting, the story, and maybe the characters is what really makes the games so good for me. The missions are extremely repetitive in the first game, yes, I agree. Main reason I didn't like it much. It got vastly better in the Ezio games though. I think they're good there. With all of that said, after the end of the Ezio saga, the series has gone downhill from there, particularly in AC 3, and I've also struggled to get properly interested in the setting in any of the other games apart from maybe Unity. I love old history, and am not very interested in new history, so Renaissance Italy (in particular) and Constantinople, old Middle East during the times of the Templars, and I guess France during the French Revolution = interesting, while stuff like 18th century US and industrial revolution London = *snooooooooore*....

@cboye18: You hit the nail on the head: The mind-numbing repetition is what killed it during the first one for me. Got about 20 hours in, and just couldn't bear to go on. Haven't touched one since.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ. This has been the most redundant generation of consoles ever. Why not just remaster the entire library of PS3 games and forget about making new games altogether? These games DO NOT NEED REMASTERS

As much as I enjoy AC games, they don't seem to be anything I ever go back and replay. Doubt I'd buy any remasters of them myself, though I suppose there's plenty of younger gamers who haven't played them and might want to.

I'd like to see them add the other AC games to BC on X1. I'm the type of consumer I'd probably go out and buy the remaster just to show my support to the dev for their consumer friendly approach if the games were all BC.

If Ubisoft are going to do a remastered collection of the AC games, why not not do all the last gen AC games? (With the exception of 4 because it's on current gen anyway.) I know 1, 3 and Rogue are not the most liked AC games. But I much prefer 1 and 3 over Revelations.

@themacaster96: I would love a AC and ACIII Remaster. I think all of them will get the treatment at some point.

If they update the graphics and make the cities more lively by adding more people like in Unity and Syndicate, I will probably buy this.

@ice12tray: Syndicate was surprisingly very good. I really liked it. I haven't liked a Assassins creed game in a very long time.
