Put Yourself in a 3D Game
Some Babbage's stores will make 3D scans of you to play in Quake III and other games.
Later this month, Babbage's will debut 3Q's Q Clone Generator at a few stores around the country. The 3D scanning device looks like a photo booth and is designed to make a high-resolution digital 3D clone of a player for use in 3D games such as Quake III Arena and others. The 3D image is produced by a number of digital cameras set at various angles, and the resulting character model can be edited to best match the look and style of the target game. The stores currently slated to get the Q Clone Generator include those in San Jose, Calif., Dallas, and Seattle. Watch for more information as the launch nears.
