Quantum Break was launched worldwide on April 5 for Xbox One and PC. The game was also the number one most-played new game on Xbox worldwide for its first week following release. This shouldn't come as a surprise, given that the game also broke records as it raced to the top of the sales chart in the UK. The game's success as a new IP published by Microsoft Studios puts it above Sunset Overdrive and Ryse: Son of Rome.

More recently, Remedy Entertainment apologised for the problems reported by players on the PC version of the game and has stated that it is "working diligently" to resolve them via future updates. Known issues include frame rate stuttering, the lack of an exit button to quit the main menu, and Windows 10-specific performance problems.

Quantum Break scored a six out of ten in GameSpot's review. Senior editor Peter Brown praised the game's creative use of time powers in combat, but criticized its sloppy movement and weapon controls. For more on the game, check out our recent coverage.
