Mac gamers can finally get their Rage on. Bethesda today announced that a single-player-only version of last year's shooter is now available to download for Apple computers.

The Mac version is all the Rage, well, except for the multiplayer.
The Mac version is all the Rage, well, except for the multiplayer.

The Rage: Campaign Edition includes the entire campaign from October's shooter, Anarchy Edition content (weapons, buggy, and armor), and the Wasteland Sewer missions, which were new purchase incentives for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.

The game is available in English, French, and German through Apple's Mac App Store, publisher Aspyr's proprietary store Game Agent, and "other" Mac digital distribution outlets.

Rage is set on a postapocalyptic Earth in the midst of recovering from an asteroid collision, where humans have emerged from underground "arks" like the vaults in the Fallout games.

Players assume the role of a survivor who has emerged from an ark and subsequently been outfitted with an array of performance-enhancing nanotechnology and some powerful ranged weaponry.

I love the id tech five engine to death with its unrelenting 60 fps sweetness. Rage, not so much.

Piece of advice for Mac users. Save your money. This game was one of my disappointments from last year. It is so overrated. Graphic Whores love it but outside of the graphics the game isn't good at all. Bad story, bland characters. Abrupt end. Empty "open world". Repetitive fetch quests. Just a subpar game.

As a MAC user, I'm glad companies still support the platform.
