Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart's New Female Lombax Will Be Playable In The PS5 Game

The new Ratchet & Clank will feature a second playable Lombax, and if you've seen the trailer, you've gotten your first look at her.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is coming to PlayStation 5, and its reveal at the PS5 streaming event raised a few questions. One thing we came away curious about was the new female Lombax character who pops up at the end--who is she, and how much of a part will she play in the final game?

Now, developer Insomniac Games reveals that this new character, who they still have not given us a name for, will be a playable character in the new game. It looks like you'll be able to swing that hammer in-game--and if the trailer is anything to go by, she'll be spending some time with Clank, too.

Ratchet will also be playable too, as you'd expect. We'll likely have to wait to find out more about the differences between these two characters, and how switching between them will work in the game.

A release date has not been set for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but Insomniac Games will have at least one game at launch--Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which is a sequel to the studio's PS4 Spider-Man game. When that launch will be isn't yet clear, though.
